“Ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ.”  To live a deeper spiritual life, the scriptures are an excellent companion.  When we “break open” the word of God in a gathered faith community, we gain insight as to how to apply it to our daily living, and we experience God’s words personally speaking to us.
