Father Charles Pinyan is the Vicar for Clergy and Director of Clergy Personnel for the Archdiocese of Newark. In that role, he also serves
ex officio as a member of the Episcopal Council, the College of Deans and the Council of Priests. He is in residence at St. Thomas the Apostle, Bloomfield. Prior to his current assignment, he served as Pastor at Church of the Guardian Angel in Allendale for 16 years. Previously, he also served at Church of the Annunciation in Paramus and Church of the Little Flower in Berkeley Heights. He has been serving since 2002 as an adjunct professor of Homiletics at Immaculate Conception Seminary, Seton Hall University. He was editor of the Newark Archdiocesan liturgy newsletter,
Word on Worship, and has been a member of the archdiocesan Presbyteral Council, Priest Personnel Policy Board, Liturgical Commission, and other advisory boards. He is a member of the Catholic Association of Teachers of Homiletics.
